Home-made Granola

Home-made Granola

 

 

 

Ingredients

1. Old-fashioned rolled oats – 1.5 cups

   Whole almonds, sliced – 1/2 cup

   Brown sugar – 2.5 tbsp

   Cinnamon powder – 1/4 tsp

   Salt – 1/8 tsp

2. Honey – 2 tbsp

   Vegetable oil – 2 tbsp

   Vanilla extract – 1/2 tsp

3. Raisins/ any dried fruits – 1/4 – 1/2 cup

Method

Before baking

Preheat the oven at 300 F. Mix oats, sliced almonds, brown sugar, salt and cinnamon powder.  In a small saucepan, warm the  honey, oil and vanilla extract until smooth. Pour this over the oat mixture and mix everything well using your fingers. Spread it on a baking pan. Bake at 300 F for about 35 - 40 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes so that the mixture browns evenly. Cool down and stir in the raisins. Store in an air-tight container for 2 weeks. Serve with milk/ yoghurt / ice-cream etc.
